Allure Medspa of Tampa Bay Florida
Chemical Peels:
Chemical peels are used to revitalize and resurface skin.  Our Aesthetician will apply a chemical solution which triggers the removal of the damaged surface layers of skin.

Allure MedSpa offers several chemical peels that offer customized results to correct pigmentation, acne, fine lines and wrinkles, and rosacea.
How should I prepare for the chemical peel ?
Because of the potency of our peel treatments, it is important to discontinue “active” products one week before any chemical peels.  These products include: Retin-A, retinols, retrinals, Renova, Tazorac, Differin, and any products with ingredients such as glycolic acid (AHAs), salicylic acid (BHAs), azelaic acid, and benzoyl peroxide.  Wait 5 to 10 days to begin using these products again.  Please ask us and/or your prescribing physician if you have any questions.

What should I expect to happen after my treatment ?
Immediately after your treatment, your face may be pink, but makeup can be applied immediately right away.  Depending on the type of peel and your skin type, peeling usually begins 2 to 4 days following your treatment and lasts for up to 5 days.  You may experience mild itching and irritation.

What is a PCA Peel ?
These patented and proven light-to-medium peel formulas effectively exfoliate, bleach and inhibit pigment production. These peels help to repair and reduce breakouts, control oil, soften lines and provide a more even, smooth skin texture.

What is a Vitalize Peel ?
The Vitalize Peel from SkinMedica is a unique blend of acids and other cosmeceutical ingredients which may help you achieve dramatic improvement in texture and tone, lessening of superficial lines and a healthier, more youthful look and feel with minimal “down time”. This renewal process has been clinically proven to help pigmentation problems (such as age spots) fade and stimulate collagen production in the cells underneath. It is gentle enough to use every 3 weeks for maximum benefits and a glowing, healthy start to your Skincare regimen.
Resulting from as little as one peel, you will notice a renewed appearance, including:

Dramatic improvement in epidermal texture.
A lessening of age spots, freckles and superficial pigmentation resulting from photo damage.
Reduction of enlarged pores.

What is a Salicylic Peel ?
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxyl peel.  It is self-neutralizing and has limited penetration. The Salicylic peel promotes the exfoliation of the outer surface of the skin. The result is a clearing of clogged pores and exfoliation of oily areas of the face.  The overall texture of the skin will be improved.

What about Ultra Peel® is it safe ?
Ultra Peel® exfoliating treatments are appropriate for all skin types, conditions and sensitivities. These treatments are especially ideal for sensitive skin, as they produce a reduced stinging sensation. Ultra Peel ® treatments will help treat acne, pigment disorders, aging skin, menopausal skin, smoker's skin and sun damaged skin.

  1. Ultra Peel® I: Moderate to aggressive exfoliation will be experienced, depending on the number of layers of Ultra Peel ® I exfoliating treatment that is applied. Overall, the final result will be plump, hydrated and ultra soft skin.
  2. Ultra Peel® II: Ultra Peel ® II exfoliating treatment may be used alone or on top of any other Physician's Choice ® peel, producing a lightening, tightening and brightening effect. It is a cream mask containing natural hormones and vitamins to provide freshening and moisturizing properties to aging skin.

What is Sensi Peel ?:
Sensi Peel exfoliating treatment was formulated primarily for extremely sensitive skin types. The solution contains a blend of L-lactic acid and trichloroacetic acid (TCA). Plant-derived progesterone leaves the skin feeling plump and hydrated. The Sensi Peel® exfoliating treatment is formulated with L-ascorbic acid for strengthening and brightening while L-arbutin and Kojic acid help treat hyperpigmentation and sun damage. The kojic acid and azelaic acid provide anti-acne and antibacterial properties to the solution. The Sensi Peel® exfoliating treatment is excellent for calming rosacea, as redness and inflammation subside substantially after treatment.

What is Esthetique ?:
The Esthetique Peel® is an advanced formulation of L-ascorbic, L-lactic and L-retinol with a host of polyphenols, antioxidants, vitamins and humectants. It smoothes, tightens and improves the texture of the skin, while also helping to correct a variety of common skin concerns. The Esthetique Peel is effective for treating all skin types and conditions. Esthetique Peel is suited for extra-sensitive skin, including rosacea.
