Jeremy D. McConnell , M.D.
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Dr. McConnell attended Siena College outside Albany in the combined B.A./M.D. Program in Science, Humanities, and Medicine before completing the eight-year program at Albany Medical College in 2000. During medical school, Dr. McConnell participated in service missions on the Navajo nation and in Maputo, Mozambique. He served his medical residency in Bayfront Medical Center's Family Practice Residency Program. Board certified in Family Medicine, he has been involved with the American Academy of Family Physicians on the state level. He has active inpatient privileges at Town & Country and Mease Countryside hospitals, as well as Westbay Nursing Home. He currently has a practice, Patients First, in Westchase. Dr. McConnell's special interests include cardiovascular and preventative medicine, weight loss and women's health. He is a volunteer clinical preceptor at Bayfront

Gregory Berland , M.D.
Board Certified in Family Medicine
Dr. Greg Berland graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2000. He graduated from the Family Medicine residency at Bayfront Medical Center, and served as the chief resident in 2003. He founded Patients First Family Medicine and the Westchase Medical Spa. He has been certified to train for Fotona for Erbium and Nd:YAG lasers, and has had expert training in Botox and Restylane. He holds faculty priviledges at Mease Countryside and Town & Country hospitals, and has been an assistant professor for the Family Medicine Residency at Bayfront Medical Center. In clinical practice, he enjoys preventative and anti-aging medicine, including bio-identical hormone replacement, complementary medicine, and nutritional supplementation. He and his wife Amy married in April of 2006.

Edward G. Mackay, M.D.

A native of Florida, Dr. Mackay has practiced vascular surgery in the Bay area since 1993. He is a specialist in the field of Phlebology, the science of veins and their diseases. As a highly regarded physician and leader in Phlebology, Dr. Mackay successfully treats varicose and spider veins with a combination of minimally invasive and micro-surgical procedures, including sclerotherapy, micro-incisional phlebectomy and endovenous therapies.
Dr. Mackay was the first physician in the state of Florida to offer VNUS® Closure, and the first in the Bay area to offer Endovenous Laser Treatment to compliment other effective and safe treatments.

| Dr. Mackay continuously evaluates emerging technologies, selecting those that will most benefit his patients. Dr. Mackay is on staff at Largo Medical Center and is an affiliate staff member at Morton Plant Mease Hospitals. He has been the guest speaker at numerous community events and provides training in vein treatment procedures to physicians throughout the US and internationally.
Dr. Mackay is the Co-Director of the International Vein Congress, held annually in Miami, Florida. The IVC is attended by over 500 physicians observing cases. Dr. Mackay has contributed to the success of endovenous laser ablation by developing a special technique that minimizes superficial phlebitis associated with EVLT. IVConline.org

Jamie Schmidt PA-C
A North Carolina native, Jamie Schmidt, PA-C graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 1989 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. She went on to complete Master’s level studies in Child Development with a Focus on Illness and Hospitalization at the University of Akron and was a certified Child Life Specialist for 7 years. She then obtained her Associate of Applied Science Degree in Physician Assistant Studies at Cuyahoga Community College in Cleveland, Ohio in 1998.
As a Physician Assistant, Jamie has accumulated a wealth of experience in Family Medicine, Urgent Care Medicine, and Aesthetic/Cosmetic Medicine. Having initially considered a career as a medical illustrator, Jamie has found a wonderful outlet for her artistic

| skills as a provider of dermal fillers and BOTOX® Cosmetic. She also especially enjoys performing Fraxel skin resurfacing, providing patients highly individualized treatments with all procedures. Jamie prides herself on listening to the patient’s desires and treatment goals and working together with the patient to make those goals a reality! She finds her work in Aesthetics extremely rewarding and looks forward to helping patients feel good about themselves everyday.In her spare time, Jamie and her husband, Karl, and son, Alex, enjoy traveling, swimming at the beach, and the many activities that sunny Florida has to offer. She also loves to run, ski, read, draw, and is an eager helper on her parents’ Alpaca farm in the Chicago area. |
